Carl’s Hut

In 2022, Susan transformed Carl’s Hut from a 1940’s log cabin, complete with dirt floors and timber log walls, to a fully renovated luxury Airbnb. Carl’s Hut is located in the centre of private Yarra Valley Vineyard Solitude Estate, and discretely blends the old and the new, with heated polished concrete floors, vaulted ceiling, skylights, original timber beams, lime-washed walls, a bedroom with forest views and bathroom with a floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the vines.

Sustainability and historical preservation have been paramount in the design, with the use of local materials including stringy-bark timber and clay.
